Following on from the results in the Blue Square Bet Premier last night, we now find ourselves facing a crucial final few weeks of the season.
This makes our last eight fixtures, starting on Saturday when we entertain AFC Telford United, probably the most important in the Club’s history as relegation into the Conference North would have dire consequences and make our football club unrecognisable from its present structure.
We are therefore asking all our supporters, past and present, to come out and get behind Gary, Grant, Chris and the players and help get the points that we desperately need in order to retain our Conference National status for next season.
The supporters are out there. Over 15,000 went to the Millennium Stadium to cheer the team on against AFC Bournemouth in the Play-Off Final - a day that was unforgettable and a culmination of a season that proved that if everyone works together anything is possible - and 9,000 turned out against Aldershot to cheer us on in the hope of retaining our Football League status. These are just two examples of the supporters turning out in large numbers when we need them and our remaining eight fixtures this season are arguably more important than both of those games.
We know that there are groups who have their own ideas as to how the Club should be run but we are asking those people to disregard those thoughts, put them to one side for now and get behind the team from now until the end of the season. It is only through all sides of the Club pulling together - the Board, staff, management, players and, most importantly, the supporters - that our beloved club will survive this season. Unity is key.
So please come out give the team your support, both here at Sincil Bank in our three remaining home fixtures and on the road at our five away games - it does make a difference.
