We are pleased to announce that Chris Moyses has joined the Board as a full director.
The chief executive of East Midlands Contracting Ltd, Chris has a long-standing relationship with the Club having appeared four times for the first team during his teenage years whilst he has played a major part over the last 12 months in keeping the current Youth Department running following the Club's relegation from the Football League.
His financial support, plus his willingness to assist with coaching and the day-to-day running of the department, culminated in a successful year with the under-18s winning the Midland Youth Cup and six scholars being handed professional contracts.
Chris will continue to work closely with the Youth Department but his passion for the Imps and his undoubted business acumen will be a valuable asset to the main Board, who continue to actively seek additional investment into the Club.
"I am proud and delighted to be joining the Board of Directors here at Lincoln City," said Chris.
"It's not about me though, it's about this fantastic football club and moving it forward. As such I want the people of Lincoln to get involved with the Football Club at every level and will be doing my utmost to help bring this about.
"With the new season almost upon us now is the time for everyone to be pulling in the same direction. That is imperative if the Club is to progress, both on and off the pitch, as any negativity can only have a detrimental effect and will amost certainly hinder any progress we wish to make.
"If we can get 3,000 fans here every week not only will it give the Club some stability but it will also give the manager the best possible chance to put together a squad which is capable of getting us back where we belong.
"We all want that success to come and we all want to be enjoying our football again so I urge everyone to back the Board, manager and players this season right from the off.
"A healthy youth set up is also vital if the Club is to progress and, as we've seen in recent years, if we can produce and nurture young players not only can this be of benefit to the manager in terms of playing personnel, it can also be of benefit to the Club in terms of financial rewards.
"I want to be actively involved with the running and coaching of the youth team during the coming season as I've certainly enjoyed the last 12 months. But at the end of the day if I can help get Lincoln City Football Club back where it belongs then all the hard work will be more than worthwhile."
In welcoming Chris to the Board of Directors, chairman Bob Dorrian said:
"Chris has had a long association with the Club having played here as a schoolboy and apprentice before proudly making his first team debut and I know he is passionate about helping to take the Club forward.
"Over the past year his support of the Youth Department, both financially and in the giving of his time, has made a significant contribution to keeping the department going.
"The signing of six of our scholars on professional terms this summer may well not have happened if Chris hadn’t stepped forward last year. Chris’s involvement in local football and management means he brings a somewhat different set of skills and knowledge to our Board along with his valuable business expertise."
Youth Technical Board chairman Roger Bates, meanwhile, added: "I have got to know Chris well since he came forward last summer to support and work with the Youth Department.
"I know that he shares our love of the Club and will work wholeheartedly in its best interests. I am very pleased that he has decided to join the Board at such an important time."
