Sean Roughan signed his first professional contract with the Imps in July 2020 following an impressive first year at the club as a scholar.

The left-back is capped at under 17 and under 19 level for the Republic of Ireland, and has also featured in their under 21 squad.

In January 2022, Roughan joined SSE Airtricity League Premier Division side Drogheda United on loan until the summer.

Since returning to England Roughan has enjoyed playing regular first-team football for the Imps, taking his appearance total to more than 70 before the end of 2023.
