JJ McKiernan was snapped up by the Imps on a four-year deal in July 2024, following an impressive campaign in Sky Bet League Two with Morecambe.  

The attacking midfielder began his career at Watford before making his move to the Lancashire Coast, where he enjoyed a storming campaign in 2023/24, scoring seven times in 28 appearances, including a hat-trick against Colchester United.  

McKiernan featured 17 times for the Imps in the first half of the 2024/25 campaign, before sealing a January loan switch to Burton Albion, where he helped the Brewers retain their Sky Bet League One status.
