City U18 welcomed the New Year in with a win and a clean sheet against Walsall in the Youth Alliance League Cup courtesy of goals from Julian Donnery and Bailey Adamson.
Ash Foyle is pleased with the “solid” 2-0 victory which evidenced plenty of character and hard work from his side.
He said: “It was a solid performance on a difficult pitch with work rate and character ensuring that we could get through the game.
“If there was to be a criticism, it would be that we should have taken more of the chances we managed to create to put the game out of sight a little earlier, but it is a nice way to start the year as I believe that puts us through the group stages of the competition.”
