Imps boss Michael Appleton has been nominated for the January Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award.
City faced Oxford United at LNER Stadium in their first January fixture before traveling to Sunderland and Plymouth Argyle in the following weeks.
Morgan Whittaker opened his Imps account with a debut goal in Lincoln's 2-0 win over Oxford on Saturday 8 January. Three days later, Chris Maguire put on a fine display scoring a hat-trick at the Stadium of Light as City secured three points against Sunderland.
John Marquis also scored a debut goal after arriving during the January transfer window, leveling the score against Plymouth before defender Max Melbourne scored the winner in added time.
With Appleton’s side beating all three promotion chasers, they earnt nine points from five games.
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The January Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month winner will be announced on Friday 11 February 2022.
