Sponsored by

The Imps host Simon Grayson's Blackpool in SkyBet League One action this Saturday, with the two sides separated by goal difference.

Michael Appleton’s side are unbeaten at home in the league since the 44-year-old took charge of the Imps in September.

City are currently on an unbeaten run of six home league games following a successful 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

The Imps last faced Blackpool in September last year when Appleton made his debut in the dugout for Lincoln. Jack Payne was on the scoresheet for City as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bloomfield Road.

Recent Form

The Seasiders currently occupy 13th spot in Skybet League One, on equal points with the Imps and Gillingham.

Blackpool have not picked up three points in their last five games with Grayson's side last securing a win against Fleetwood in December.

Liam Feeney, Sullay Kaikai and Armand Gnanduillet were all on the scoresheet for Blackpool as they fired three past Joey Barton's side. Conor McAnley was the only goalscorer for Fleetwood.

Manager’s comments

Simon Grayson spoke highly of the job that Michael Appleton is doing at LNER Stadium in his press conference.

The Blackpool boss spoke to the club's website saying: "Michael has gone in there and done a good job. He got a good result against Bolton when they won 5-1, they scored three goals in the last five minutes.

"They are able to pass the ball around and got a lot going up front with Tyler Walker, Tyreece from Arsenal and John Akinde."

The Seasiders boss continued by speaking about his side's preparation: "We have to do the basics right and stop the opposition from playing. We need to pick out the ball better, I keep mentioning it but we need to stop giving the ball away cheaply too often.

"We need to make better decisions because we keep giving it away and the opposition hurt us. We are working on that and we are hoping to turn the corner."
