City manager Michael Appleton, has today been nominated for the SkyBet League One Manager of the Month award for December.
During the final calendar month of 2019, The Imps won three out of five games and picking up nine points across the month with victories against Burton Albion on the road and home wins against Tranmere Rovers and Ipswich Town respectively, scoring eight goals in those wins.
The win over Ipswich Town at LNER Stadium being one which was particularly highlighted by the judging panel.
Other nominees for the manager of the month award are Accrington Stanley’s John Coleman, Karl Robinson of Oxford United and Gillingham boss, Steve Evans.
The judging panel of former Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Barnsley manager, Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and SkyBet EFL trader Ivor Davies will make their decision on who will win the award on Friday morning.
