It's another point on the board

City defender Neal Eardley admits it was a little frustrating that The Imps didn’t take all three points on a blustery evening at LNER Stadium but there is plenty of positivity amongst the group after picking up a point against MK Dons.

“I think over the last 12 days or so, we’d had a run of defeats so it was good to get a point on the board tonight.” Neal said.

Whilst City couldn't quite force home a winning goal, Neal says that confidence remains high in the squad as everyone is focussed on the long term plan and looking forward to taking the positives from Tuesday evening into training for the rest of this week and beyond.

“We’ve got a really confident group, we all train really well all week it’s just sometimes in football if you’re not on the best of runs those chances go against you and you don’t have the rub of the green.

“We have had good chances tonight, and I feel like we did on Friday against Rotherham too so I suppose you could say it’s a little frustrating but we'll remain focussed, stay driven and look forward to the next one.”

That 'next one' sees City getting back on the road as we head to take on Accrington Stanley at Wham Stadium on Saturday and the Welshman insists that the best way to move forward is to get back out on the pitch with the aim of playing well and picking up more points.

“The games come thick and fast and Accrington is a tough place to go, they’ve proved that over the last couple of seasons so we know we’ve got to be right on it. We’ll work hard between now and Saturday to make sure we go into that game fully prepared.”
