Danny Cowley has urged his players to continue where they finished at Mansfield Town on Monday night, as City aim to make it 16 unbeaten in Sky Bet League Two today at Crawley Town.
Speaking to BBC Radio Lincolnshire/iFollow Imps pre-match this afternoon, Danny reiterated this his side are in a good place at the moment as they aim to maintain the 10 point gap over fourth-placed MK Dons.
He made just one change to his starting line-up today, while Neal Eardley retains the captain armband which he held at Mansfield Town.
Tom Pett comes in for Michael O'Connor, with Jordan Roberts replacing Lee Angol on the bench.
"We're in a good place at the moment, we responded well to going a goal down at Mansfield on Tuesday and we just need to try keep pushing on," Danny said.
"At the moment we're in a lucky position where we've got three midfielders playing really well, and Lee Frecklington whose been back training this week who's available to us.
"It makes sense, once you've played this amount of games, to keep it fresh in there."
Conditions are cloudy in Sussex, while the playing surface is looking in fine shape as we enter the first weekend of Spring.
"The overhead conditions are pretty good, and it's conducive for a good game, hopefully," he added.
"Brighton have played some games here, and they seem to have got the fibre sand underneath surface, and it seems to be a good track here this year."
This afternoon's opponents suffered heavy defeat at Crewe Alexandra last weekend, and Danny's positive of a response from Gabriele Cioffi's side.
"We expect a wounded animal. We expect them to come out and fight really hard, and they will be disappointed with the outcome last week," Danny said.
"They started well, went a goal down, could've scored a few themselves, then conceded four goals in eight minutes.
"We've seen the best of everyone this year, and I'm sure we'll see a response from them today.
"When you're top this is what you have to expect, that's why there's one thing being top, there's another staying there."
City's only home defeat in the league this season came to the hands of the Red Devils just days after Cioffi's appointment, and the Imps' boss admitted that result is in the minds of his squad.
"It's our only home loss, and it hurt. So, it's definitely at the forefront of our minds today," he said.
The Imps will be backed by around 1,000 supporters this afternoon, and Danny was full of praise for yet another strong away following, which averages of 1,187 in Sky Bet League Two this season.
Over 750 tickets had sold pre-match, with Danny issuing a rallying cry for support on Thursday following the announcement that pay on the day was available.
"I did feel guilty this morning when I woke up and saw my social media feed of our supporters making the last-minute decision to come down to Crawley," he joked.
"It's really important that we get as many Lincoln City people in the stadium as we can.
"We've known all season that it's never been about the players, it's a whole club effort. They have won us a lot of points so far this year, and we hope they'll be noisy today."
