"It's about us making it happen."

City manager Danny Cowley says today is an opportunity for the club to do something historic but whilst they are still in the optimum position to finish the season as champions, nothing is going to be left to chance.

Tranmere Rovers are chasing promotion from SkyBet League Two along with a host of clubs over the final week or so of the season, so as Danny pointed out ahead of kick off, today's clash is another indication of how tough a division this is as both sides will be gunning for victory.

"It’s going to be a tough game, Tranmere have had a great season to this point and they still have an opportunity to get into the automatic promotion places. And for us obviously it’s an opportunity for this club to do something that we haven’t for over 40 years.

"It’s about us making it happen, we think we deserve it with the amount of sacrifice and work that’s gone into it but you don’t always get everything that you deserve. You have to go and make it happen, it’s a really tough challenge so we’ve got to be ready."

Michael O'Connor is one of four changes to the starting eleven today and the Imps' boss says it's great to have the experienced midfielder back in the side and will add a fresh energy after what has been a tough season for the squad. But he suggested that changes were expected after the brusing encounter at Brunton Park on Good Friday.

"Petty has a sore groin and has done well to get onto the bench, with Frecks out as well it’s good to have Tom on the bench. Michael has had a very good season and comes into the engine room nice and fresh.

"It was always our plan to freshen the wide players over the two games, we thought he may play both but Harry took a battering at Carlisle as you all saw, so it’s come around a bit too quick for him.

"No matter who plays though we know that everyone will give their maximum."
