Since their formation in 2004, the Imps and MK Dons have locked horns in league and cup battles on seven occasions, with plenty of familiar names on the scoresheet for either side, including former and future Premier League talent.

Marvin Robinson scored the first goal in a fixture between the two sides in the FA Cup in 2005, with Gareth Edds equalising forcing a replay, which MK Dons won.

City's first win against MK Dons arrived this season, and at the seventh attempt, as Jason Shackell's last-gasp header at Sincil Bank in September secured the three points over Paul Tisdale's side.

Several players have donned the MK and Imps shirts, with the most recent occurring almost a decade ago.

Here we take a look at five of the names that have appeared in the MK white and Lincoln red and white stripes.

Jude Stirling

Know for his extremely long throw-ins, Stirling made his debut after signing in January 2006 following his departure from Oxford United.

Stirling made his debut as a substitue in the 1-1 draw at Peterborough United that month, and made a further five appearances as a substitute.

Jude left the Bank in the summer to link up with Keith Alexander at The Posh, before heading MK Dons' way, initially on loan in January 2007, and then permanently in the summer.

Stirling made over 100 appearances at Stadium:MK over a four-year spell, including a clean sheet in the EFL Trophy final against Grimsby Town in 2008, which MK won 2-0.

Mustapha Carayol

The Gambian International winger made a couple of appearances during the early stages of his career at MK Dons, before arriving at Sincil Bank in 2010 via a permanent stay with Torquay United.

Carayol made more than 30 appearances in his sole season at the Bank, scoring four times in all competitons, before joining Bristol Rovers the following season.

The winger's career has seen him join the likes of Middlesbrough, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest, as he know plies his trade in Cyprus with Apollon Limassol.

Craig Westcarr

The forward, who was signed on loan from Nottingham Forest in the 2004/05 season, made his debut - and scored - in the 1-0 victory on New Year's Day, 2006 over Bury.

Westcarr had become Nottingham Forest's youngest ever played in 2001, but found appearances at the City Ground to be limited.

The former England youth international, joined MK Dons in League One after spending the month of January with the Imps, before making moves to Notts County, Chesterfield, Portsmouth and Walsall, amongst other EFL clubs, and eventually delving into the Non-League.

Luke Howell

The defensive midfielder arrived at the Bank in a loan spell from MK Dons in 2010, before the move became permanent in January, 2011.

Howell's playing time with the Imps wasn't maximised due to numerous injuries that he picked up throughout the season, and he left Sincil Bank in the summer.

The 32-year-old has since had spells with Boreham Wood, sandwiched between two spells at Dagenham & Redbridge, before joining Aldershot Town in the summer of 2018.

Richard Pacquette

The former Dominica International striker was amongst the names in MK Dons' inaugral 2004/05 season, featuring on several occasions at the National Hockey Stadium.

After spells with numerous other clubs, Pacquette made his way to the Bank in 2012, making his debut in a 2-0 home defeat to York City.

Two appearances that followed saw Pacquette fire his only goals for the club, scoring a brace in a 3-3 draw at Gateshead, before finding the back of the net alongside Jean-Francois Christophe in a 2-0 home win against Southport next time out.

Pacquette made his final appearance in the 3-2 win at Ebbsfleet United on the final day of the 2011/12 season, before having spells with a whole host of clubs, including Bromley, Sutton United and the Metropolitan Police.
