Nicky Cowley heaped praise on the Lincoln City supporters ahead of the Easter Weekend's double-header against Exeter City and Carlisle United.

The Imps begin the Bank Holiday Weekend with a home clash against fifth-placed Exeter, with a bumper crowd in attendance once more at Sincil Bank.

Cowley, who joined Danny and Sam Habergham at Thursday's Press Conference on the Lincoln High Street, had plenty of positive words to say about the support-base.

"We were speaking about formations earlier, and we’re fortunate that we have an extra player in having our supporters because they’re incredible at raising us, and important in trying to win games," Cowley said.

"The support base is hugely important for all of us, when we play at home we have a real energy within the stadium which drives our players on.

"Danny has mentioned before about when we played Crewe at home a few weeks ago, we didn’t play well and the supporters were chanting our names and still getting behind us.

"That shows everything about the loyalty they show and their commitment. We want our players to reflect the same commitment that our supporters show."

City supporters will be housed in a packed-out Stacey West Stand on Good Friday too, and Nicky is also hoping that it will be of advantage to the Imps, particularly with set-piece scenarios.

"As soon as we hear the sirens, that definitely motivates us even more to score from the corners because it’s a unique sound that you don’t hear often at football grounds," Cowley added.

"We’re just so delighted that there’s so many people coming to the games to watch us and help cheer on the boys."
