Richard Parnell has today been announced as the new Head of Legal and Football Administration at Lincoln City Football Club.

Richard joins the Imps’ family after leaving his most recent post at Sunderland Association Football Club in a move to what he says is a fiercely ambitious football club where further exciting times are around the corner.

Richard has immense experience in sport, aside from his most recent post with the Black Cats, he has worked with a number of high profile professional and amateur sports organisations such as the British Olympic Association, Amateur Swimming Association and England Golf.

He holds a Masters degree in Sports Law and Practice and his aim in coming to Sincil Bank is to combine his love of football with his significant expertise and experience in working in professional sport. He says the move to Sincil Bank and a move ‘home’ is something which fills him with excitement and pride and he is keen to get started.

“I have lived in Lincoln for almost 20 years. I have three boys who all attend local schools and am very excited at the prospect of returning to work in my home city and in joining such a fantastic football club.” He said.

“I see a real opportunity here to develop Lincoln City Football Club and build on the successes of last season. The club has a strong emotional pull for me so moving to Lincoln City was a relatively easy decision to make.

He continued: “This is a very ‘hands on’ role supporting the new CEO, Liam Scully, and manager, Danny Cowley, and I am looking forward to being part of a small team which influences the future direction and successes of the club.”
