The Imps fell to a 3-1 defeat to Benfica B at Sports Complex Vila Real yesterday evening in the first friendly of the pre-season tour.
Jordan Maguire-Drew gave City the lead with a stunning effort from distance just six minutes into his first appearance for the club.
His goal was cancelled out by a hat-trick from highly-rated 17-year-old Joao Felix.
"It was a good workout and a good challenge for us physically against a very good Benfica B team." Danny Cowley said.
