Adam Marriott has become Danny Cowley’s latest acquisition with the former Stevenage forward signing a one-year contract, to commence 1 July.

Marriott (25) started his career as a youngster with Norwich City before making his mark at first team level with Cambridge United, going on to appear over 50 times for the Abbey Stadium outfit.

Having spent time on loan at Bishop's Stortford, scoring twice in six appearances, he moved to Cambridge City on his release by United prior to the 2013/14 season and was a very prolific scorer at this level, scoring 45 goals in 42 games. This form caught the attention of a number of League clubs with Stevenage securing his services for an undisclosed five-figure sum in the summer of 2014.

His time with Stevenage was dogged with injuries, however, and he was restricted to just 22 first team appearances during his two years at the club. Released at the end of last season, Marriott will be hoping his injury problems are behind him as he looks to rebuild his career at Sincil Bank.
