Striker Jonny Margetts has today joined Scunthorpe United in a deadline day transfer deal.
The National League's joint top scorer this season with five goals from his seven City appearances including all four in the 4-0 home win over Southport, Jonny has penned a deal with the Iron that will run until the end of the 2017/18 season. He joins for an undisclosed fee."The plan has always been to sign hungry and ambitious players who want to progress so when a club from a higher division comes in and expresses an interest in such a player it’s very difficult to stand in that player’s way," said manager Danny Cowley.
"Obviously we’re very disappointed to lose Jonny but we’ve managed to move one of our players on to a League One club and this will give him an excellent chance to further his career.
"It goes without saying that we wish Jonny every success for the future and thank him for his efforts during his short time with us."
