Youngsters in the Lincoln City FC Youth Academy enjoyed a special night on Tuesday when some of the Club’s first team squad dropped in to meet the players and join in with their training.

Goalkeeper Paul Farman and Lincoln-born Conner Robinson began the evening by getting to know some of the Academy’s newest recruits in the Under 9/10 squads, while midfielder Mo Fofana and fellow Frenchman Arnaud Mendy, who is currently training with the Imps, were put to the test by the Under 11 and Under 12 squads.

Andy McGill, Foundation Phase Lead at the Academy, commented: "It was a fantastic night for the boys. These players are their heroes and their role models and to meet them first hand and play alongside and against them was a wonderful experience."

Robinson, who himself came through the Club’s youth system, was impressed by the quality of the talent on show and Farman has a busy night as the youngsters were keen to show off their shooting skills.

McGill added: "It’s rewarding for everyone for everyone to hear the comments from the first team players about the quality of our youngsters, and it gave everyone a real buzz.

"We have a great track record in developing good young players through this Academy and this experience will no doubt help inspire many more young stars of the future."
