Midfielder Arnaud Mendy has signed a permanent contract until the end of the season.

Mendy, who has spent the past few weeks training with the Club, was most recently with Luton Town having signed for the Hatters in January 2013 following a two-year stint at Macclesfield Town.

Celebrating his 24th birthday today, Mendy played for FC Rouen as a teenager before joining Derby County's academy set-up, progressing through their ranks before making his first team debut against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2009.

He played once for Grimsby Town on loan and had a three-month loan stint at Tranmere Rovers at the start of the 2010/11 campaign before returning to Derby's reserve side.

Mendy joined Macclesfield following his release by Derby and was a regular with the Silkmen until he signed for Luton after a successful loan spell.

A Guinea-Bissau international having represented the country twice in World Cup qualification matches, Mendy has been handed the number 24 squad shirt, recently vacated by Karl Cunningham following the expiration of his contract.
