Helsdown double helps Imps to friendly win

A Lincoln City XI travelled to Sleaford Town on Tuesday night and manager Gary Simpson took the opportunity to give a number of players some valuable playing time, as well as casting his eye over a couple of triallists.

First team squad members Nick Wright, Bohan Dixon, Todd Jordan and Jordan Thomas all started in a line-up predominantly made up of the Imps' Youth Team, while former Imp Frazer Cobb was in the hosts' midfield.

In an entertaining game the Imps ran out 4-2 winners on the night thanks to goals from Alex Simmons, Jordan Thomas and two fine finishes from first year scholar Kieran Helsdown (pictured).

The U18's had a blank weekend in their fixture programme so the game was much needed as they prepare for the visit of Chesterfield this Saturday followed by a trip to Dunkirk next Wednesday in the FA Youth Cup.
