Lincoln City FC wish to stress their support for Gainsborough Trinity FC following today's decision by The Football Association to remove them from the 2013/14 FA Cup.

Gainsborough were found guilty by an FA Cup Sub-Committee of playing Jordan Thomas in their FA Cup tie against Rushall Olympic on Saturday 28th September 2013, a day after our player joined Trinity on a temporary transfer.

As confirmed by Gainsborough in their Club Statement, emails containing the necessary paperwork relating to Jordan's loan move were sent to both the Football Association and Football Conference on the morning of Friday 27th September 2013.

The Football Conference confirmed all was in order shortly afterwards, but the Football Association are saying that they never received the email and as such are claiming that Jordan was not registered for Gainsborough before the deadline of 12 noon on Friday 27th September 2013.

We have a long standing friendship with Gainsborough Trinity FC and having assisted them with their evidence to the Football Association since we were made aware of Rushall Olympic's protest, we will continue to support them as much as we can should they wish to appeal the Sub-Committee decision.
