... To Celebrate Youth Development

Youngsters from Lincoln City's Youth Academy enjoyed a Bank Holiday festival of football courtesy of neighbours Grimsby Town when they took part in a series of games at Blundell Park this weekend.

The event was organised by Grimsby Town's youth department, as part of their fundraising efforts to sustain the club's own academy. And staff, players and parents from City's Youth programme were delighted to support the event.

"Putting local rivalries aside, it's important to recognise the hard work of clubs like ours in the continued effort to sustain a youth programme," said Academy Manager Grant Brown.

"Grimsby are in a similar position to us in that their central funding has now stopped but they have proved that anything can be achieved with hard work and the support of parents, volunteers, staff and local businesses."

Everyone at Lincoln City would like to thank Adam Smith and his staff for a fantastic day and for the players of both clubs who represented themselves and their clubs with professionalism throughout the day.
