Future Imps Fund starts to develop business and community links

Since the launch of the Youth Academy’s fundraising campaign - the Future Imps Fund – the Academy has been delighted with the level of response and support from local businesses and supporters alike.

And, apart from the pledges of investment and sponsorship, the Academy has also received a whole range of fundraising ideas and offers of help to promote and manage a variety of fundraising events.

Commenting on the response, Youth Director Roger Bates said: "We have been delighted by the number of people who have contacted us with ideas of how to raise money for the Future Imps Fund.

"Right now, we are actively working to support supermarket bag packing, a race night, a football marathon, a live band night and someone who is running in the Robin Hood Half-Marathon.

"There are other ideas in the pipeline too, and we would welcome anyone who has ideas that can help our Youth Academy. We will be pleased to talk to them and help them where we can."

In return, the Academy is promising to develop its business and community links where it can.

Recently, it helped kick off the Greenbank Five-A-Side Tournament with some showcase games against Hull City, while the Youth Team were out and about on Lincoln High Street promoting the opening of the new Costa Coffee shop.

The Academy is also committed to supporting local charity events and good causes. In recent weeks the youth department has provided a Lincoln City kit for two good causes – a five-a-side event at The Welcome Inn Pub in Skegness and a 24-hour football marathon organised by employees at Royal Mail Lincoln. Both events raised much needed money to help fight cancer, and the Academy is committed to supporting similar events in future.

If you have any ideas on how you can help, or would like the Academy to support your own fundraising campaign or develop a local business link, simply email futureimpsfund@redimps.com and follow the instructions.
