Hard Work Will Continue: Gaffer

Manager David Holdsworth says that hard work remains top of his agenda as he looks for his players to kick-start their season tonight in the home game against Nuneaton Town.

City entertain Nuneaton at The 12th Imp Sincil Bank Stadium on the back of a narrow one-goal defeat to Tamworth at the weekend. Saturday's defeat was the fifth single-goal reverse of the season so the statistics show that Holdsworth and his squad aren't too far away.

It's goals and points that count, however, and Holdsworth will be looking for positive additions to both of these columns in the league table when referee Chris Knowles blows for full-time this evening.

"As manager I will continue to work as hard as I can with the squad available to me whilst the players will continue to work as hard as they can both on and off the field to get that much needed success to lift us up the table," writes the City chief in his programme notes for the Nuneaton Town match.

"Whilst the table at the moment reflects a very tight affair we know ourselves that we’ve been in games and if it wasn’t for the better word of finishing then we would be brighter in terms of points.

"Rest assured, we will roll our sleeves up and work very hard for you, the fans, to put a team out that will play with pride and passion. We will fight for every point available."
