Experienced striker Adam Boyd has today penned a short-term contract following a successful trial spell with the Club.
A regular goalscorer throughout his career, most notably during two spells and 10 years at home town club Hartlepool United, Boyd has penned a deal with the Imps that will run until January 2nd 2013.
Having netted on his senior debut as a 16-year-old, Boyd was forced to bide his time for a regular slot in Hartlepool's first team and after a successful loan spell at Boston United in 2004, returned to the north east and promptly bagged 12 goals in 10 starts to kick start his professional career.
The following season saw Boyd amongst the country's leading scorers with 29 goals in all competitions for the League One outfit. Attracting the interest of a number of clubs, an injury early the following campaign saw him out of action for a number of months and he subsequently joined Luton Town, then in The Championship.
He spent just 12 months with the Hatters before moving to Leyton Orient and was a virtual ever-present for the O's in the 2007/08 season, scoring 17 goals in the process. A further dozen followed the following year before he returned to Hartlepool for a second spell, which came to a close at the end of last season.
One of a number of high-profile pre-season signings made by Northern League side Celtic Nation, Boyd's time with the Carlisle-based side was brief, leaving the club after just three months before linking up with the Imps on trial.
He has been handed the number 38 squad shirt.
