Former Scotland Youth International James Jones was Michael Appleton’s first recruit during the 2020 summer transfer window. The 24-year-old arrived at LNER stadium with six years’ experience as a professional, spent entirely with Crewe Alexandra.
During his time at Alexandra Stadium, James made over 180 appearances in all competitions, including 55 Sky Bet League One appearances between 2014 and 2016.
