Hakeeb Adelakun joined the Imps on a free transfer following his release from Bristol City in summer 2021.
The attacking midfielder started his career with Crystal Palace and West Ham United before signing a professional deal with Scunthorpe United in 2012. At the age of 16 years and 201 days, Hakeeb became the Iron’s youngest player after coming on as a substitute against Tranmere Rovers in December 2012.
Following a six-year spell with Scunthorpe, Adelakun was rewarded with a move to Championship side Bristol City in July 2018. He made five appearances in England’s second tier before being loaned out to Rotherham United for the 2019/20 season.
During the 2020/21 campaign, Adelakun contributed to Hull City’s promotion from Sky Bet League One, making 14 appearances and scoring three goals during his loan spell with the club.
