An experienced forward, Chris Maguire joined the Imps in July 2021 from Sunderland where he made over 100 league appearances during a three-year spell.
Maguire started his career in Scotland with Aberdeen, spending six years at Pittodrie Stadium before signing for Championship outfit Derby County in June 2011.
Following a loan spell with Portsmouth under Michael Appleton, the forward moved to a newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday where he went on to score 18 league goals in 79 appearances.
A brief spell with Rotherham United during the 2015/16 season saw Maguire loaned out to Oxford United where he would work under Michael Appleton for the second time in his career.
The move to Oxford turned permanent in February 2016, with the pair going on to win promotion to Sky Bet League One as well as collecting runner-up medals at the 2015/16 EFL Trophy Final. A second trip to Wembley followed in 2017, with Oxford facing Coventry City in the EFL Final. However, Coventry would go on to beat the U’s 2-1.
In July 2017, Maguire joined Bury on a free transfer. 11 Months later, the forward signed a two-year deal with EFL League One side, Sunderland.
