A Summer 2020 arrival under Michael Appleton, Joe Walsh scored a minute into his debut for the Imps as they beat Scunthorpe United 4-0 in pre-season.
A former Wales U21, Joe is another experienced name the Imps have in their defensive options. After coming up through Swansea’s academy, the defender turned professional in 2009 following success helping the Swans win the FAW Youth Cup against Cardiff City.
Walsh left Swansea in 2012, joining Crawley Town where he was voted Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year for the 2013/14 season. The 29-year-old was then rewarded with the captain’s armband for the 2014/15 campaign.
After over 100 appearances in red, Joe signed for newly promoted Championship side MK Dons in May 2015 following an earlier loan spell at the club.
After five years with the club and a third-place Sky Bet League Two promotion to his name, the defender became Lincoln’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
During the 2020/21 season, Walsh contributed to 11 clean sheets from his 25 appearances in all competitions.
